Genovese Basil is an annual herb, ideally suited for full sun exposure. Its dark green leaves and spicy-sweet aroma lend a distinctive flavour to dishes, so it is often used in Mediterranean cooking, pesto sauce, salads, and vinegars. Planting it near tomatoes has been said to improve their flavor. This basil variety is slow to bolt.
