A perennial crop which should not be harvested until their second year in the garden. Allow the fern-like foliage to grow the first year in order for the plant to photosynthesize. Harvest when spears are 6-10" above the soil line. Plant in full sun. Zone 3.
This variety produces beautiful medium-sized purple spears which are milder and sweeter than traditional asparagus. They turn green when cooked.
